From small beginnings on my own in a Bristol garden shed in 1986, Imagine has grown to offer a wide range of high quality handmade mirror frames. In 1996, I, Frankie, was joined by my husband Andrew and finally in 2000, we moved to the Newent area of Gloucestershire, enjoying the luxury of a purpose-built workshop. 2008 saw us join the Guild of Herefordshire Craftsmen.

Quite early on and against all advice, I decided to work with birch laminate because it widened the design possibilities – you can create a whole frame from one sheet of wood – and lowered the chances of the frame warping with heat or damp.

I developed my own technique for carving the laminate to incorporate birds, flowers and animals into garden, woodland and water scenes, These carvings are also used to decorate the simpler frames.
